An extraordinary vocalist, Jennifer didn't have to look far for encouragement when her love for singing took off. "My mother, brothers and sister were all musicians and music was always around our house and at our church. I sang in church choir from age 5 until, well I still sing every Sunday at church. However, my Dad takes credit for teaching me how to sing since he sang bedtime songs to me every night."

Before she took up singing, Jennifer was tickling the ivories in a jazz band and at classical competitions. "I think playing the piano had a great influence on my singing." She also attributes a change from classical playing and singing to a more soulful R&B style to Thara Memory, the exceptional jazz trumpet artist. Thara was her jazz band conductor for three years and encouraged her to break free from strict rhythms and styles to sing and play what she felt. Now she counts Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Jennifer Holliday and Crystal Lewis among her stylistic influences.

After graduating high school Jennifer spent a year touring the West Coast with a youth outreach band through Youth Encounter. Her experiences on the road, singing six nights a week made her realize her passion for singing.

Over the past 10 years Jennifer has had the opportunity to sing at many gigs and private events in and around the Portland metro area. She has several times been the guest vocalist with the popular Columbia Gorge band Blue Trick, and in January 2002 joined a well known Portland band, Pressure Point as a lead vocalist.
